<P>Mr. Jones needs to do some serious study of music. If he means by "chromaticism" free meandering of musical tones without any apparent tonal (tonic) base, then he is way off-base with Wagner. If he means freely moving from one tonal base to another with clearly defined tonics, then he is referring to Wagner, but definitely not as the inventor. See for example Mozart, Tchaikovsky.</P>
