"Photocopying copyrighted music is illegal but music is hard to find
and expensive to purchase.  Many Catholic church musicians, many of
them unpaid and without music budgets are forced to stoop to making
illegal copies, just to be able to do their jobs."

I must admit - this is very true in the Philippines. So, what most church
musicians here do is to  try to learn a piece by "oido" or memory.
Eventually, when the piece is played in church, it may have the rudiments of
the original score, but with differences, based upon how well the musician
remembers the score.
