[Announce] Here's what our Thanksgiving baskets look like.

Loaded the truck this afternoon. Here's what 368 households (537
adults, 380 children) will get for Thanksgiving from the Oscar Romero
Catholic Worker House:
1 or 2 cans carrots (we have 648 cans)
2 cans garbanzo beans
2 items, "lottery" of crackers, cranberry sauce, refried beans, or green
peas
oatmeal, 3 individual packs
1 box cereal
1 bottle shampoo
1 tube toothpaste
4 lbs, dried beans (pinto or white or both)
1 item, peanut butter OR rice
1 can vegetarian beans
1 can, peaches or mixed veggies
Oranges, 1
Apples, 1 or 2 (708 fruits for 368 deliveries)
Bread, 1
Families of 5 or more (84 total) will get 1 additional bag with the
following:
2 cans garbanzo beans
Shelf-stable milk, about 1 qt (a mixture of quarts and pints)
Elbow mac, 2 lbs, 1 or 2 bags (144 bags for 84 family bags
Large can juice, 1
1 can apricots (66 cans)
5 lb bag potatoes, 1, plus a few extra (we have 100 bags for 84 deliveries)
1 lb carrots, 1 (plus a few extra, we have 96 bags for 84 deliveries)
1 onion
1 orange
30 bags will get a bunch of celery
Bananas (we have 2 boxes to divide, not sure how many bananas that will
be per bag)
Many thanks to St. Charles Parish and the volunteers of the Dorothy Day
Center and to those who donate the funds that make this all possible and
to everyone who shows up tomorrow to help deliver this food.
