Hunger in our Community

*Hunger** is a thief. It is uncaring, selfish and cruel. It
isunfettered by racial bigotry.
Hunger treats people of all ethnicities the same. It does not discriminate
based on gender or age. Hunger robs its victims of the abilities to learn,
to function in society, and to create opportunities for themselves. Hunger
is an incredible injustice that exists in our world and in our local
community. *
**
* In Oklahoma, 14.6 percent of the population — around 518,000 people —
are food insecure, which means that they don't always have money to put food
on the table.*
**
* We all have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people
in our community to whom hunger is no stranger.*
**
* Every month a group of people from all different walks of life get
together to help deliver groceries to people in our community.*
**
* We hope that this month you will join us as we work together to help
provide groceries and hope to some of the most vulnerable people in our
community. *
