Each year we host a group of Creighton students for their spring break. They learn about social justice, sustainability living, and do service projects. Below is a song that this year's team wrote about their experience, it is to the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm".

Bob Waldrop, Romero House, OKC

Bobby Max Had a House
--Tune of Old McDonald

Bobby Max had a house
O-R-C-W-H
And with this house he help the poor
O-R-C-W-H
With some insulation here and some water-conserving there.
Here a dog, there a cat, everywhere another pet.
Bobby Max had a house
O-R-C-W-H

Bobby Max had a compost
P-I-L-E pile
And on this pile he had some microbes
P-I-L-E pile
With Ben's pee here and Jon's pee there
Here a mouse, there a mouse, everywhere a dead mouse.
Bobby Max had a compost
P-I-L-E pile

Bobby Max taught us permaculture
how to save the world
And with this he practiced sustainable living
for when the world falls down.
With a vegetable here and a fruit tree there.
Here a herb, there a green, everywhere a growing thing.
Bobby Max taught us permaculture
how to save the world

Bobby Max had a friend
and his name was Marcus
Marcus helped us feed the poor
one person at a time.
With a food bank here and a fire station there
Here a kid, there a kid, everywhere another kid.
Bobby Max had a friend
and his name was Marcus

Next we met another friend
L-A-N-C-E
Pastor Lance loved to talk
And show us OKC
With some converse here and a suit coat there.
Here a story, there a joke, he is such a friendly folk.
Next we met another friend
L-A-N-C-E

Father Gallatin fed us doughnuts
He was very wise
He marched with Martin Luther King
and told us good times.
With a liberal here and a protest there,
Here a war, there a war, everywhere a unjust war
Father Gallatin fed us doughnuts,
He was very wise.

If you ever want to live off the grid,
ask a man named Bruce.
He like the sun and wind a lot
'cause it gives his energy a boost.
With a cluck-cluck here and a solar panel there
here a plant, there a well
Everything is going swell.
If you ever want to live off the grid,
ask a man named Bruce.

Next door lived a man named Art,
and his wife Mary-Ann.
He used to be a Trapist monk
but now he's a married man
With some stories here and some cupboards there.
Here some love, there some food,
everywhere a jolly mood.
Next door lived a man named Art,
and his wife Mary-Ann.

We helped a woman named Mrs. Jones
she had many dogs.
She preached the truth to all of us;
our money not to hog.
With a broken fence here and a life-lesson there.
Here a dog, there a dog, everywhere a mangy dog.
We helped a woman named Mrs. Jones
she had many dogs.

This service trip changed our lives
for the betterment of the world.
When civilization crashes
we'll end up back at Bob's.
With some bread baking here, and some soup making there,
Here a meal-a-dollar will pay
Simplicity will save the day.
The service trip changed our lives
for the betterment of the world.
