Thanks to the hard work of Marcus Evans -- not only with the website, but also getting us to actually schedule a year's worth of delivery days in advance, if you need someone to herd cats, he's your man -- you can see a full year's worth of opportunities of service at http://www.thedorothydaycenter.com/Volunteer_opprotunitiesDec2007.htm .
I told Marcus that we should dedicate all our deliveries in 2008 to St. Joseph, and pray the liturgy for the blessing of a St. Joseph's Table at each of those delivery days before we depart on our routes. So I suppose more will be said about that as the year progresses. Dorothy Day used to talk about picketing St. Joseph, and I guess I am thinking that that is something we need to be doing.

PS. For those of you listening in who live in other areas, I encourage you to link any websites you are affiliated with to the Dorothy Day site. www.thedorothydaycenter.com . Besides the area-specific content about volunteer opportunities, there are recipes and some info about Catholic Social teachings. Plus, it is a working example of Catholic social teaching at the parish level. They set a good example there, and people should know about that.
