A PRAYER AT THE BEGINNING OF AN EMBER DAY

Lord of Creation, Justice, and Mercy,
On this day of prayer and fasting,
Turn my thoughts and heart to you.
Keep me mindful of the blessings I have received.
Teach me moderation and prudence in the use of 
material goods.
Give me a heart of generosity to serve and bless 
others.
Forgive my sins and help me change my ways.

These things I ask,
in the name of the one who is the Way, the Truth, 
and the Life,
Amen.
